How Fear Affects Time

Over the past several months, I have broken through to a very calm and peaceful place about my relationship with the ALS gene. As I worked my way through this difficult and painful layer, I was deeply struck by the ways that fear affected my perception of time. When I was in a fearful place, time literally seemed all scrunched up and there was never enough of it. I constantly worried about how to fit in all the things I needed to do and everything felt urgent.

Once I broke through and let go of all that fear, it was as if time expanded and I could breathe into the present moment. Suddenly, I had so much time and clarity to prioritize what needed doing and to know when I could rest or just pause to appreciate the beauty of my life.
